Back to School

New York City has now joined much of the rest of the rest of the country, and we have gone back to school. (This is an area that I do not mind lagging behind other people). I performed my parental/scrapbooking duties and took some pictures.

The back to school routine began the night before when we did something we had not done all summer.

We turned off the TV.

It's good to know that they still know what to do in that situation.

So, in the morning they were up quickly, and ready to get back to some old routines.

 

 

Before we knew it, it was time to head out the door.

 

 

I took the above picture, because I knew that I had this one in a scrapbook from about 8 years ago:

Anyway, without further ado, the official first day of school photo. Seventh and eleventh grade edition.

This month's gallery theme is Back to School. Which is a great theme for this time of year, but in NYC we go back to school after Labor Day, so I don't have any cute back to school photos yet for this year. Back to school does mean goodbye to summer, so that is the direction I took. I had a good summer, and I had a lot to say about it; About all the things we did, and about the joy of not doing anything much at all.

After adding the title and that little heart to my photo, I realized that I used the exact same font (by Amy Tangerine) and heart stamp (by Ali Edwards) in a photo at the beginning of the summer. It turns out that that one was to say hello to summer. 

I totally did not mean to do that. I guess I am nothing if not consistent.
