Clique Kits Pep Rally!

Hello, everyone! Welcome to the first Clique Kits blog share of 2016! If you're following along in order, you should be coming from  Leigh Ann's blog.

I worked on this layout during my winter vacation, though it tells a story from our summer vacation. Clearly, I am not big on chronological scrapbooking.

In the summer we embarked on a two and a half week road trip, from New York city to Orlando, and then back again. There were many fun times, and we saw many great sights. Some sights, however, were less exciting to our children. One of the phrases that was oft repeated, and it soon became a running joke was, "Why don't you stop and take pictures for twenty minutes." That was their charming way of letting us know that they were not impressed.

I just adored the colors in this kit, especially the red and black. Seriously, I just love the color black.

I made another road trip layout with Alegria. It is also based on the antics of those same two teenage boys spending dozens of hours together in a car. It's a little embarrassing, and seems a little un-classy for the scrapbooking world. But, I am probably not the only mother of teenage boys out there. So, I'm just going to go ahead and share it.

Don't judge me.

Clique Kits August Pep Rally

Hello, and welcome to Clique Kits August pep rally!

You should be coming from Donna's blog. This month is my favorite kind of challenge- anything goes. It's nice and easy for the summer time.

While summer is sadly coming to an end, this layout is about the very beginning of summer when Sam began his first job. That first day of work sure tuckered him out. But he went back everyday, and he is already talking about it again for next summer. As a parent, I am proud of him choosing to work this summer.  In the long list of things to teach your kids before they leave you, I feel like I can look at "work ethic," and know that he is on his way.

I used the main kit and some paper add one for this simple layout, and I used my silhouette for the title. I loved this kit, and now I am looking forward to the next one!

Next stop is Kim's blog! Have fun!

Clique Kits Pep Rally!

Welcome to this month's pep rally, all the way from Danielle's blog! Congratulations on making it to the end of the line. I hope you are enjoying all the inspiration out there this month.

In the spirit of this month's kit, Tailor Made, the challenge is to create something sewn, stitched, crocheted, embroidered, quilted, or knitted.

This is not my forte.

But, I do have a card on which I tied some of the lovely black twine that was included in this kit:

And I personalized the inside, since I used this card for a friend's bridal shower:

There is an extra credit challenge for this month's pep rally, which is to include a goal for the new year. Since I am just coming off of my son's Bar Mitzvah, I have one goal and one goal alone. To just be. (Wish me luck.)

Here is the full line up for the blog hop:

Enjoy!

Clique Kits October Pep Rally

Hello and welcome to Clique Kits October pep rally!  The challenge was "Anything Goes," or to create a project inspired by this quote from L.M Montgomery:

"I'm so glad to live in a world where there are Octobers."

What a lovely quote and it was not hard at all to think of reasons to love October; the cooler weather, the sweaters, the shoes, and for the Deutsches, October brings Comic Con. Rather than try to include photos of everything, I used one photo to capture the beauty of October- a single white mini pumpkin- and I added the details in the journaling. The journaling being just a quick list. That little Top 5 card included in the October Kit, made this a breeze.

I added some Ali Edwards word art to the photo, and typed the word "October" in my current fave font, by Amy Tangerine.

Thanks for stopping by, and here's the list of everyone participating. Pay these lovely ladies  a visit and leave 'em some love.

Aliza (C'est Moi!)

Thanks again! Enjoy!

Welcome Blog Hoppers! Happy Spring!

Welcome all from the SSC blog hop!

I am offline today celebrating Passover (thanks Chrissie for linking me up), which in Hebrew is also called "Chag Ha'aviv," which is the "Festival of Spring." Sometimes an extra month is added to the Jewish calendar (which goes according to the lunar cycle), to make sure that Passover falls out in the spring. This year was one of those years. (I know some of you are in parts of the world where it is not spring. They celebrate Passover now too. I don't know how to solve that problem.)

Now it just so happens that the many (many, many) preparations for Passover begin right after the holiday of Purim, which this year, actually fell on the first day of spring. How appropriate! As we were out and about on Purim, I saw the first buds of the season, and I was inspired to make this layout:

Thanks for stopping by, and if you leave me a comment, I'll be happy to come visit you on your blog after the holiday!
