A Sketch Challenge

I know I've sung their praises before, but I will do it again. I just love sketches. They are just a great starting off point when the mojo is going slow. I ordered a bunch of pictures from our road trip, and I am awaiting their arrival. So I needed a little boost to help me scrap some old photos. So I headed on over to The Studio  to help me out:

And then I made this:

I have loved this photo from Max's bar mitzvah. There were lots of posed family portraits of the event, but I think this one just came together as all the kids were playing, and the fact that they're all just piled together on top of each other and on top of my dad, well it just adds more feeling and story to the photo. Still the photo sat unscrapped for a while, and sometimes I thought, "should I just put it in a frame and call it a day?

And that is why I love sketches and online challenges, because sometimes when you're stuck, and not quite sure what or how to scrap next, some guidelines and  a deadline are a nice push. I would never have come up with this design on my own, but I really like the way it came out.

  1. This is so great Aliza. I love all the layers you have used to embellish your page and the colours you have chosen perfectly coordinate and enhance your photograph. So glad the sketch inspired you to use this special family portrait.

This is such a beautiful page - love it!

Thank you for joining us at The Studio - hope to see more of your creations.
